Clarksville Newspaper Sam WILSON dies at Mt. Pleasant June 24th 1922. Former merchant and farmer of this county buried Sunday.

Sam WILSON 89 years of age, a farmer residing of this county, died at Mt Pleasant Tenn. last Saturday following a three months illness. News of Mr. Wilson's death has been received by S. W. KELLY, county court clerk, in a letter from Russell WILSON, Mr. KELLY having long been a friend of the family. Mr. WILSON came to this county shortly after the civil war, and for a number of years owned a farm near Palmyra. later he was engaged in the mercantile business at Oakwood for several years. he was a brother in law of Capt Gobe RUSSELL of this county. The funeral and interment occurred Sunday in Arlington Cemetery at Mt Pleasant. Services were in charge of the Masonic fraternity. Mr. WILSON is survived by five children: Mrs J.S.  HILL and W.W. WILSON, of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. C. R. JACKSON of Columbia, Tenn; H.S.  WILSON of Haskell, Texas; Russell WILSON of Albertville, Ala.

Mr. WILSON was a member of the Methodist church, He is remembered by many of the older citizens of the county.
