The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

genealogy technology
finds documents containing 'genealogy' or 'technology'

genealogy or technology
functions the same as the query example above

genealogy and technology
finds documents containing both 'genealogy' and 'technology'

genealogy not technology
finds documents containing 'genealogy' but not 'technology'

(genealogy not technology) and WAIS
finds documents containing 'WAIS', plus 'genealogy' but not 'technology'

web*
finds documents containing words starting with 'web'
